Shawn, any chance you can provide an updated video with 3D motion of your swing as well as foot pressure/weight throughout the swing? I’m really trying to better understand the transition and starting the downswing properly while also shifting weight properly so I’m not early extending and on my toes at impact.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Tom! I was one of the few early adopters back in 2003 of the Dynamic Balance System which used the same force plate tech as the Nasa Scientists to re-acclimate astronauts back to earth’s gravity. It is now collecting dust (20 K machine!) because we are the gravity experts that never leave the planet! You think you have a defect where in fact, you really don’t.
The videos on premium that will transform this area of your game are the following:
-weight shift with Savy (the original youtube video is “best downswing weightshift shawn clement”
-the walking drill
-perpetual motion drill series
-the first “off season training series” video 7-9
Then:
”feet together back to feet apart”
”pumping up the swing”
These are huge and you set you straight and remove any of the pre-conceived notions you have about weight shift! 😀👍
My drives and fairway woods are low and fading to the right. I’d prefer high with a draw. Any suggestions?
Shawn – the avatar shows your head is really steady (no swaying) during the swing. How do you do that? I frequently come out if my shot to see my target, or where the ball is going. This fault is manifested with ballflight way right (or left) with my driver. Thanks.
Bob
No need for the head to come up when the intermediate point I am releasing over is in my immediate peripheral vision right there in front of the ball within 12 inches or less! You want to use the intermediate point to line up AND DELIVER THE ACTION!
Oh so that is how you keep the water from spilling out of your ear!! Finally I got my answer. thx
😀👍🥳
Good Morning Mr. Clement:
I surely enjoy your videos and being a premium member. Question: When viewing the Driver – Draw Video – Your setup includes playing the ball back slightly and a slightly closed face. Additionally, are you setting up your shoulders turned to right as with the iron swing?
Brian
Hi Brian!
What you do is pick the flight plan and then the intermediate point to get your set up matching the flight plan. Then, with the height of the flight plan, you pick the ball position that will allow you to collect the ball on the way up and in the direction you want to start the ball; the shoulders, hips, knees are set up to allow you to deliver in the direction you want to start the ball, which for a draw would be to the right of the IP. So yes, the shoulders, hips and knees would be “pre-turned” to get your body ready to deliver to the right.
Shawn
Shawn,
I do not have enough width in my swing and have used the sword drill to create width and more upper body turn. I have been trying to rotate my upper body and keeping my hips still. It is extremely difficult to execute and physically hurts. In this video your upper body and hips start together and at some point the shoulders continue while the hips stop creating a differential. Should I attempt to start the takeaway with my shoulders or using the upper and lower body together?
OMG!!!! NEVER NEVER RESTRICT ANY BODY PART EVER!!!
The restriction of the lower body is the worst thing that has ever EVER happened in this game; bar none…that and keep your head down and still.
Please see “sledge hammer axe drill shawn clement” on you tube; a nice oldie but a REAL GOODIE. Make the swing look and feel exactly like that and feel what ot is like to swing with NO STRAIN and super compression!
