Hey Shawn! In some videos I see you and Sav with a black smaller whip? I have this melhome 5 iron length but want to try a shorter on as well. Thanks!
Go ahead and have a club repair person cut it down to a 7 iron length; it works very well at that length! The black one was a special limited edition whip Ed had and sent us…
Hey shawn
I know you mention that the club always bottoms out at the center of your body. But when focusing on cutting grass before you hit your shot do you focus on the grass infront of the ball on behind ? Or is it based off the shot such as a fade or draw ? Such for a draw focusing on the grass infront of the ball, fade behind the ball and for straight shot i guess small strip behind ball.
Thank you
Hi Michael! See “kinetic chain facilitation series” and in #6 you will realize that the grass comes out from centre forward without thinking; you could keep your eyes on the grass in front of the ball for that task and if you prefer to send the dandelion stem instead like in “task update” video, then keep your eyes on the grass between the ball and club; but the task and focus is to send the stem out to target and to do that, the ball will have to meet the face first naturally!
Hi Shawn, quick question. What is the “self-correct” when the grass whip digs into the ground? I’ll get a few up and down swings and then I’ll dig up a huge chunk of the earth. Trying to translate that self-correcting mechanism to a golf club. Thanks!!
Self correct with a grass whip is the same as throwing darts! That is the magic! No defects, just hey, it was digging and the feel should be skipping along the ground with a nice whipping action where the peak speed is well past the ground and towards the target.
Just got grass whip the other day. I only have thick grass to cut through and I feel as if this may be impeding getting the right feel. Thoughts?
Use the rubber tee on a mat and cut thentee out from under the ball; this is the key feel and look you are going for; when the ball falls to the ground after you take the legs out from under it.
Hi Shawn! Where can I get my hands on one of those grass whips?
Hey Nate! Check out https://wisdomingolf.com and see the pro-shop page and order the grass whip there! 😀👍
Thanks Shawn!
