Just set this station up in the backyard net setup. WOW – ‘straight’ feels 30 degrees right, but the ball just skims the right side of the alignment stick about 5 feet in front of me. This likely explains my left miss lately

There’s an expert on ground forces. His name is Ben Emerson and he does work with the force plates. I wonder if you have ever been on a force plate doing the foot together drill i’ve been playing most of my golf with the feet together drill, especially on scoring irons, but I do feel ground forces affecting 1 foot differently as I go back if I take that club back to that halfway position with my butt moving towards the target I feel the weight even though my feet are together. I feel the weight going into my left foot. if I do the perpetual motion left-hand swing, I feel the weight halfway back going into the right foot I just thought it might be interesting to see how exactly the ground forces work through your body on a perpetual motion swing with the feet together, it doesn’t seem like the ground forces would come up through both legs simultaneously it seemed like in a past video I heard you talk about one of these ground force machines

I was one of the first to use the Dynamic Balance system, 20k in 2002! 3 years later it was collecting dust!!!

I guess it was a dumb question, but I’m still trying to figure this thing out. Been watching you for over 12 years and I guess I don’t have a clear understanding about when how you say the body gets the ground to get the body out of the way, does the weight transfer from the trail inside heel? to the lead toe then lead heel. I also have problems with clarification about when you say let the club unit fall fall in front of you doesn’t give me a clear enough explanation of how. it makes me want to ask questions to clarify. I can go through the bag with the feet together drill and score with a decent short game but predictability with the feet apart is gone. I think I have watched so many of the WIG videos that I have become discombobulated. I’m not giving up i’m starting all over

No no, none of that starting over stuff. Here is what I want you to master: kinetic chain facilitation series #6 where you walk and send divots into the bushes. Find an area where nobody will miss the grass or the weeds and do the walking drill while whipping divots with momentum into the bushes. Then come back to me right here in this thread with feedback.

This will be my go to drill for the week! You recommended it to me a few years ago and I forgot about it. The feeling of being able to squeeze the ball through the sledge hammer throughout my takeaway and backswing was the feeling I was missing during my setup. Actual Goldilocks with that setup was a aha moment! My shoulders and turn were making it to where I either lost pressure or was digging straight into the ground.

Tried this on the range today and contact was solid, but ball flight was very very low. Wonder what I was missing.

After our last lesson, I’m in a great groove – make a flight plan, feel it in my practice swing, then go. I’m SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!! There were several steps leading up to this…. growth continues 🙂

So the arms and club represent the string and the ball is the club head kind of like a triangle plane that is rotating around my chest in an arc much like the arc created through the ball and out through the target.sorry to be remedial, but, I haven’t thought of the swing as a”pizza slice-chest being the crust “ and rotating through the ball. I think this may help me think through the ball and not at the ball

Shawn, your teaching has made golf enjoyable again. I love your approach. One thing I’m struggling with is the football drill and the kinetic chain (move out of the way) seem to battle each other. I’m a lifetime early extender (likely from college water polo) but your kinetic chain videos, hammer throws and one leg drill have really helped to cure it. When I try to incorporate the football drill I stripe the ball for a couple shorts with incredible control but shortly revert to my early extension (pelvis out towards ball). Any videos or thoughts on how to get best of both worlds

Very good! The jackknife drill’s goal is to get you to a release that is on the target side of the ball in the direction you want to start the ball. For that, there can be no doubt about ball position, distance to the ball, grip and club relationship and levels to take divots on the target side of the ball. See the “goldilocks series” for that Big 4. Now remember that these 4 items are based on you letting the jackknife release you past the ball to the side of the intermediate point required for the shot. See “G force series” and keep polishing the feel of that release with the “important release update” video.

It looks like you play the ball off your lead toe with driver. Did not notice that in other videos. Also , Shawn i sent two of my videos on the Golf live app for your review. I am unable to confirm if they were sent.

Love these two videos. After watching the first I took it to the range and really focused on being wide and turning my backside to the target and slinging instead of guiding. Huge improvement particularly in my short and mid irons and some improvement on my woods. Long irons were still not great. I think a big part of the problem was being too ball forward in my stance-with pulls and big slices being the result. Any recommendations on what to work on to really get this down?

Make sure distance to ball is adequate! Hands cannot be same distance to body than mid or short irons! They need to be farther! This is a big one! See Distance to ball in the “goldilocks series”

These videos are great! Do the arms and hands do anything actively in the downswing, or are they 100% reacting to gravity & momentum? I’ve watched a lot of your videos & want to make sure I am not adding anything that doesn’t belong. Thanks!
