Just wanted to make sure I am understanding this correctly at 8:52 in video you show the “hinge” and in addition to hinge on the wrist snuff boxes there is a bit of counterclockwise rotation as well in arms? I tried searching hinge and went with Arm motion Fine Tuning which I suspect verify’s what I am thinking, along with keeping right bicep free to to move below left pec. Hope i am correct because it really make me feel my arms are more connected to one another. Thanks

That would say at end “keeping right bicep free to to move below RIGHT pec.” ( from the Arm motion Fine Tuning”)

And rotation I am asking about is clockwise, geezer sorry about that!

Hi Shawn, excellent video covering some very important fundamentals. My bad misses are usually due to setup stemming from improper hip hinge. My feel when posture is good is that my belt buckle is pointing towards the ball. With a poor setup my hips shift more back with less tilt so the buckle is more horizontal, laid off club in the backswing and an ugly shot. I place a golf shaft across my hips, push back on it to help create a good hinge. I do this as a stretch often during a round, have even used it while setting up to the ball. Anything else I could do to help with my posture?

You can go down the list of videos by date and towards the bottom and see the posture videos from there up; nuggets in every one of them!😀👍

Hi Shawn, I’ve gone through many of your intro videos (the process, rhythm training, the process, etc. and you keep discussing cutting the grass or dandelion head. When on the golf course and actually hitting the golf ball, where should my focus be? What should i be trying to accomplish, related to where the ball actually sits? Sometimes it is back of your stance, sometime it is front, sometime center. Am I aiming for the ball, or the grass just before it, etc. Thank you.

Shawn Clement

Alright; the stem of the dandelion, or ball, is in the middle of it. The simple act of cutting THROUGH THE STEM and OUT INTO THE DIRECTION YOU WANT THE BALL TO GO which is marked by your intermediate point, is the task. NOT to the ball and Not The grass before the ball. THROUGH THE STEM AND ALONG THE GROUND towards the direction you want the ball to fly into. See the “blur of club” and the “arc-blur unstoppable momentum” videos.

Shawn, comparing your swing to Savy, I see in your completed backswing your arms are more parallel to the ground. Savy’s arms and shoulder turn reach more above her head. Your elbows show less bend while Savy’s elbow bend is more pronounced. I assume both are correct, what’s the difference? Is there a video illustration of each approach?

You are not alone. I’ll strive for her width but settle for your forehand.
