Hi Shawn, when I reach the top of my backswing I have what seems like so much hand/arm depth with my right elbow way behind me compared to you and Sav.

Shawn Clement

Go to “lead hand release backswing assurances”, “”garage door drill”, “backswing levitation” and “match backswing to ball direction”

Matt Hunt

Hi Shawn, I have another question lol…when the head is allowed to go up and down piston like but centred is that rise and fall all from the legs or some straightening of the waist too?

Matt Hunt

Hi Shawn, I love the walking drill, when I perform this I naturally keep my hips back and don’t hit “at” the ball which stalls my rotation as I move towards the ball in the down swing- I’ve heard you say do this drill until the “cows come home” I’m assuming that applies for all clubs?
I’m worse the longer the club gets and particularly with driver! Do you suggest the drill with driver?

Shawn Clement

Hey Matt! Absolutely; but make sure you see the “throwing series” and the “kinetic chain facilitation series” which will show you important set up keys to adjust to the longer lengths of the clubs!

Christian Mignot

Hello Shawn this axe drill looks easy when Savvy and you are performing it but it is really challenging to achieve it and it cannot be mastered in one or two practice sessions. I think it requires a real commitment.

Shawn Clement

You do get the point of the drill though right? Some of the drill may not be for everyone but a picture is worth 1000 words! 👍😀

Christian Mignot

Oh yes I did ! Some shots hit while performing the drill were pretty good. Actually it helped me realised that I was not turning enough during my back swing and also that my weight should shift on the front foot at the transition / top of the backswing. When I managed to transpose that to the true swing the distance was amazing (with some hooks sometimes as you warned me in the audio comment on my swing analysis)

Matt Hunt

Hi Shawn, love the momentum ideas and the walking drill. Just a question I find that if I stand at address to long (for me a few seconds is too long) I get a bit stuck and lose that momentum feeling! So in essence I have to waggle above the ball and then place behind and start in one movement! Any thoughts?

Shawn Clement

Yes! See “momentum already there before you start the swing” series! 😀👍
also see “unstoppable momentum series”
