Hi Shawn, with the blur of the Club? When ready to play the ball are you seeing the low point and beyond of the arc in your minds eye to the swung finish?

Shawn Clement

Yes, this is all part of the prediction process; when you see “the goldie locks series” and “predict contact” add the “2 ball drill perpetual motion drill series” to it and set up in a way that is feels that the club will get through the lie the way you want it to when you let momentum release you in the direction you want to start the ball. Also see “unstoppable momentum series divot” video

Mark Gustafson

Hey Shawn!
You continue to engrain many of the same aspects of your approach to teaching the golf swing across many of your videos, which I think is terrific. They should overlap a little bit. I liked the term “Heavy Momentum” used in this video. It registered with me because I like to feel the weight of the clubhead throughout the entirety of my swing. These are the small nuggets golfers need to hear in a variety of ways because we all interpret the process and the task a little bit differently. All the best!

I have enjoyed watching this video. I have practiced with my practice mat and this does keep my head still. My question is does blade irons help with additional distance over perimeter weighted irons? It appears that the blades allow you get closer to the “dandelion stem” which seems there would be better ball contact

Gregg Carr

Thank you. Divots once I determine low point should not be a problem with my perimeter weighted irons if hit correctly. Would that be fair to say

This looks way, waaaaay harder than it actually is. I’ve watched this video (and tried to put it to practice) probably 10x but I still can’t pull it off.

She’s hitting (a nice easy) 285 with 101 swing speed – I’m hitting 265 with 108 swing speed.

Her launch angle is 17, mine is 11.
Her spin is 1,600, mine is 4,000.

This game is driving me crazy!

Hi Shawn! thank you for recommending this and the other list of videos to me after analyzing my swing! I am really grateful for your help. You and your student have such a great looking swing. I hope I will be able with time to find a swing that is as natural.

One of the skills you and Savannah are able to do pretty effortlessly now is this clock like swipe the grass or mat motion to find and maintain your center from both sides. It appears pretty foundational and seems like an excellent exercise. It was not anything I had ever considered or attempted before and I was so impressed. I tried it and I think it will take me a while to master.

Am I right in thinking this is a skill I should try to perfect first? Are your students able to pick it up very quickly generally? I feel pretty awkward attempting it but I am sure it will get better with a little time.

Shawn Clement

You bet! Very important skill to acquire to get to next level consistency in ball striking! And the great news is that 10 minutes of leggit practice per day will get you to expert level within the month!
