“Flight plan”
Hi Shawn,
On helping a fellow team mate I talked to him about the Flight plan, I mentioned picturing the – direction, trajectory, curve. And I have never seen an immediate improvement in someone the way this 9 Handicapper had.

Then I realized even I am so bogged down with the tilt, IP, throwing the club towards target etc. I never take a flight plan. Yes, I do take the general direction (never specific) or where on the tee box do I need to place the ball or behind which divot but never more than that.

Started with 2 bogeys and a Par. After telling my team mate I too started figuring the system for myself. Decided to practice what I had preached.

Did not do it for all shots, but every shot that was crucial like 3 wood under a tree, a 5 wood over trees, 8 iron over a huge tree to a tiny green with a fade 165 yards…
I shot my best round on the newly opened greens (we had been playing temporary greens over the monsoon season). 4 over par! From the Blues!
Terrible greens slow as a snail with a crutch.

Its amazing how people are so oblivious to the way you teach the game.

We have a league coming up 21 teams, based on handicaps am playing off on my genuine handicap of 12. That’s before the Shawn System. Thank you for the pure joy you made me feel yesterday. A lot’s coming together as I write.

  1. While I Write might as well ask you :- Should I do this (flight plan) with every single shot hence forth, driver to irons to hybrids to wedges to the putter?
  2. Do you do this on every shot or only when a little more concentration is required?
  3. Direction, trajectory and curvature = Flight plan or have I missed something?

Thank you,
Baba

I will not approach the ball UNTIL I have decided on my flight plan. Then I pick the IP to guide my set up into it; then when I approach the ball, I am already feeling the action through it and into the flight plan (feel and sight and sound of task) and then I plug my prediction process into it and confirm my set up feels comfortable so that momentum can be ALLOWED TO PERFORM MY TASK FOR ME. Then I am a witness, I am with, being with, my task into the release into the picture. EVERY SINGLE SHOT WITHOUT FAIL.

Great video. Do you recommend using one club “Lob wedge”, with various ball position, setup etc. to match task, versus using various clubs to change trajectory to perform the task. In your opinion, which method is the easiest to prefect.

Would you please respond to my question. Thank you, I know you are very busy.

Yup, good call. I’ll try to remember that for my next baddie.

I have to admit that I feel so much better about myself, when Shawn hits a skanky one….hehe.
