Hi Shawn, I was just wondering, and it’s to do with closing the face face. Should the club face be closed when held out in front of me but then appear to be square behind the ball, due to proper tilt and getting behind the ball? Or should the face be closed when out in front of me AND at behind the ball? Thank you.

Shawn, the football analogy is a game changer for me – easy to feel and remember. In the part one video, you discuss creating width or space of the right elbow in the back swing and wow, that makes the underhand football concept even more powerful and effective. Just getting that elbow back another couple of inches seems to increase the smash factor. Thanks !

I agree with Keith that the football drill is a magic pill. I noticed that when I first started to ‘set the football’ over the ball my right elbow immediately crashed into my gut. No room. So I shoved my back side further out at address. When I did that I felt this ‘re-balancing’ on the center of my feet. That was a BIG change for me. I then realized that the root of my swing struggles was an inefficient and out of balance setup. I originally thought I had bad footwork and almost paid for a bunch of scans. That is why the WIG system is so terrific. A simple task drives hundreds of body positions to the right places.

Great start to offseason training… you mention the closed face and then getting behind the ball to deliver the football to the doorframe ….. Im assuming this is for draw flavor. For fade flavor we know we close the face less but are we getting behind the ball the same amount as draw flavor ? or is it behind the ball relative to the less amount of face closure

The football feel for the elbow should be good for chipping as well?

Agree with the comment about the winter sessions. I practice quite a bit and the grip change, feel and focus and reprogramming via your sessions really shows results in consistent easier ball compression. I worry less about the pieces of the swing and setup, distance to ball, knee action etc. Just Goldilocks if needed then a few key focus points like closed face at address, head behind the ball throughout, r arm separation, width of backswing and letting the natural weight of the acu follow the r elbow to the target. Sounds like a friggin promo. This is fun. J.
