hey Shawn, i’ve been coming in too hard into the ground even when thinking about cutting a stem. Trying to stay on task but still mostly seem to come down hard toward the ball. Any additional advice to avoid this bad habit.

Shawn Clement

Yes! Go to the “goldie locks series” and “predict contact” video and make the prediction that if you throw the club in the direction you want to start the ball that you are only going to GRAZE THE GRASS which will make it feel like you are going to hit the ball thin. See what happens! Many of my students need to stay there for a while or even permanently to flush the ball and about 40% of tour players always hover the club at address, Jack Nicklaus always does this.

Hi Shawn
i feel easily about grass clippings on the driving range and at the beginning of the course, but I always have to think:send grass to the target and not only think to the grass or to the target ?? Above all i am 74 years old and you gave me so much pleasure in playing golf thank you thank you and i apologies for my approximate English ;kinds regards ;jj

Shawn Clement

Correct! See “task update” video and send the stem to the direction you want to start the ball!

Hi Shawn, I have tried before to look at the front of the ball or in front of the ball. But no big improvement in ball first contact. I have to say the idea of looking in front of the ball, plus the task of clipping the grass clicked. So for the last three sessions at the driving range, I have had amazing improvement on ball first contact. But the most important improvement I have seen is the ball getting the way of the swing as opposed to hitting the ball. Still afraid to take it to the course just yet, but I think soon. Have to tell you for me it has been the little things in your teachings that have made the biggest differeence.

Shawn Clement

Very good Arthur! Exactly! As you get zeroed in on the task and you start zeroing in on the delivery of the task, it definitely is the little things that make the difference! 👍👌🤘💪👊
