My cross to bear here is the fact that you call out a few potential faults of mine. 😂 I know that I struggle to stay with the task when there is something in my peripheral vision that makes me feel threatened. I am occasionally cursed with pull hooks/draws. At first it was everything in the bag, but mostly plaguing my woods and driver now. Maybe the woods and driver just magnify the problem. Another suspicion is swaying with my driver. What you described in this video is all too familiar, since I tend to lose balance in the follow through with my driver. I typically assume that it’s because I’m trying too hard rather than letting the club do the work, but this could be a factor, too. Which in attempt to remedy that, I might not be getting enough turn. All of this you’ve probably noticed in my swing video. Swing changes are tough, but this program has yielded the best results and I’m going to stick with it. I’ve had some highs and lows, but I’ve had a couple personal bests this year.
I look forward to hearing your comments on my swing video.
There is an amazing graph in the book Atomic Habits, illustrates why you want to stay with it! Also see the “how to let the swing evolve” video in the “Wisdom 2.0” series
This is a perfect summary of the lesson we had a couple days ago! Love it! Thanks Shawn!
Yeah man!!💪😀👍
Hi Shawn .. when I try the draw it’s high right blocks every time .. when I got behind the ball .. the shoulder alignment and legs were not aligned and it felt I was in my own way . Same ball flight every time
Dave
Hi David! When you do feet together draw, what happens? You would simply play the ball off the big toe of the trail foot and let momentum graze the right edge of the intermediate point, then for fade, aim a hair left of IP and play the ball off the big toe of the lead foot and let momentum stay left of the IP (right handed shots for both)
I’m excited about the forum!
Awesome! So glad! You want to break the ice and start a topic? 😀👍
You guys get to choose as well! This will be OUR FORUM
Hi Shawn and thanks for another awesome video but now I’m confused 😀 Probably because I have misunderstood. When hitting a draw respectively fade you still aim the feet to the target? Is it ball position, the swing direction and maybe also a more closed or open club face that changes?
Fade:
We align momentum left of target using the intermediate point and we play the ball a touch forward of centre and LET momentum release us in that direction; we don’t want to guide or make sure the swing cuts across the ball as this is momentum’s job.
Draw: irons:
Align the flow of momentum straight at the end target and play the ball a touch back of centre, get behind the ball and feel how the ball wants to squeeze out to the right of the intermediate point slightly; let momentum stay that way and enjoy a shot that starts right and draws back to target.
Draw option 2: woods:
