I was reminded of an old pointer about keeping your mouth open/jaw slack, during the swing – to avoid over-straining. Used it on the course the other day and had one of my best driving rounds ever!

Such good information. I haven’t watched this for a couple of weeks, I got your notification email re this week’s new video and thought I would go back to the start – definitely watching these off-season vid’s over and over again 😉

Hi Shawn. A couple of weeks behind on my winter series. Anyway, when I do this drill, I find that the volleyball travels relatively low, maybe 1 or 2 feet off the ground. Is this something to worry about?

yes I am trying to hit about 6 feet high. But if that is not a concern on this drill, no problem

Great lesson. There so much in this. And really wonderful to see the progress in Mu’s swing and Sav’s fitness over the last two years. Walking the walk, guys. I’ve been working on the athletic stance and forward shaft lean lately. Things are really coming together. Even my terrible putting has become pretty hot!

For me, the walking drill also encourages the coveted natural pause at the top. The brain is waiting for that lead foot to plant in the right spot before it releases everything into the downswing. I feel like the ACU is hovering forever. Terrific drill when you get ‘quick’ at the top. Now that I think about it, this should always be a part of warm up before playing. Take that sweet sensation out on the course.
