Any particular reason why his trail foot is planted for the shorter pitch shots ?
Eli has had issues with an overactive lower body; the “bolted and centred” video as well as the uphill shots and ball below feet shots is what we practiced a lot of and this allowed him to support the swing with a stronger structure.
I did try it and to be honest it felt as though I wont be weight shifting but as I hit a few more realized the weight shift is there it just doesn’t show and one feels a lot more centered and controlled. Food for thought, for me.
Earlier I hit my half shots and quarter shots more with feel, but as my contact has become really good since doing what you ask of us, I use the face of the clock 7,8,8.30,9,10 in my take away and keeping tempo and the ds same, it worked for me. But finish was always with trail heal up and on the toe. Keeping the heal on the ground definitely gave me a lot more control. A few days of comparing will decide if its a keeper…:) This is so much fun!!!
