I’ve been playing golf for 51 years and this drill finally taught me a golf swing which is to say – taught me the proper impact position/sequence and the feeling/feedback is awesome – bliss on a stick. But, there is no perfect and no automatic just more fun knowing the right way. Thanks Shawn!

Love this drill Shawn! I have always come over the top and this actually explains how to get after it from the inside and on the arc. I can actually get my right shoulder to come under. Also, it really has a good feel coupled with the “diagonal stance”. You have the best instructional information on the interwebs!

Speechless! Your clarity is as always brilliant – it just gets better and better!
Given Covid (we are still locked down in the Colonies) could I suggest that you stick with the WIG plan, TripIt, Feel the weight and allow the ball to get in the way of the club – BOOM!
If you are new – this plan works – we get to use our bodies and brain to play golf – no matter how old we are!

Hey Marc; thank you for the great feedback; and yes, this drill is on the advanced side of Wisdom in Golf for sure! If you are new, use the list of videos by date and head to the bottom and work your way up.

Hi Shawn. I have a question on the position of the head, when doing this drill, and also when performing a conventional shot. At present I do the 15-20 degree turn and tilt of the head, to get in the proper position of going at the target. When I see you doing this drill, it appears you are not incorporating that pre setup head tilt….you tilt it when you get in the supporting the axe position. I want to know how we should setup the head for the drill and for a conventional shot. Should the head be rotating back, or should that be done in the setup?…Hope my question makes sense

Thanks, Shawn…will do
BTW, this drill more than any other, has enabled me to consistently get the hammer drill feeling and to focus on the throwing the stem to the target. Before, when there were a few errant shots in a round, I would occasionally get “careful” and revert to focusing on the ball. This drill and setup automatically gets my brain to focus out in front of me….. towards the target. Outstanding new drill you developed.
