Shawn said, When you hit it thin, it’s because you come from the inside and stay along the ground too long. Will you explain this please?
Sometimes this is the case especially when a golfer has overdone the “inside to out” swing to repair their “perceived over the top” swing and they end up coming back down too much from the inside and too shallow into the ball causing scrapey shots and or thin pushed shots.
Combine this video with video 4 and 5 of the “consistency series” and “goldie locks series”
Hi Shawn, on the last video you mentioned lining up left on your fade, is that the same on the draw. Also, on the draw you have a pre-twist in your pelvis but not the fade, right? Thanks
The fade has the ball slightly forward of center so you are already “behind the ball”
The draw, the ball is slightly back of center, so to get behind the ball, there is a little pre-turn of the pelvis and rib cage, yes!
Thanks Shawn, so my feet alignment is slightly to left for a fade and slightly to the right for a draw so I can cut grass to the L or R of my intermediate point?
Yes, and for the draw, you have the option of setting up square as the ball position is a tad back of centre for the irons; have a look at Important Driver Nugget video as well as “diagonal stance part 1-2”
Great, thanks!
What a reminder. Aim left hit left with confirming blur for backswing on fade (r handed) and aim at target swing right with confirming blurr for draw. So often I don’t complete the pre shot confirmation with sometimes nasty result …..ouch…
Yes, paint the complete picture and complete the feel you are going to use to deliver into that picture; the goal is to get to the point that you are so nicely prepared that the whole thing will seem so easy to perform!
Job well done – I being a drawer of the ball appreciated this video very much!
Thank you Peter!
