For the draw yes, for the fade, you are playing the ball forward of centre so you are already behind it. The key is feeling that you can let momentum swing through the arc that passes through the ball and to the right of the IP. If you are too much behind the ball, you feel like you will drop kick to the right and not enough behind the ball, you feel like you will take deep divots and pull left.

Question, when I watch you demonstrated the jack knife (battering ram) drill. I appears you are coming at the ball at 6 o’clock (target side of ball is 12 o’clock). When I try that I pull the ball with a hard hook.

When I come in at 4 o’clock, I hit left of the target (I am left handed) and the ball draws back to the target. (My dominate hand is the left hand).

Am I doing something wrong or should I come it at 4 o’clock?

I love the concept about this drill but it feels very uncomfortable getting my hands further away from my body. I think this is something I need to work on as I have been hitting the toe of the club with everything and I wonder if it’s because I’m not keeping my head behind the ball throughout the swing as you describe in this video. The result of my ball flight are indicating I am not releasing towards the target and am pulling way left. I almost feel as if I need to start learning to hit the ball all over again as I am struggling and losing confidence which is perpetuating the problem. Any drill suggestions to help me get my swing path and release in order?
